E3 Analytics was founded in 2009 as an independent consultancy focusing on the economic and environmental aspects of energy markets. In the years since, it has had offices in Fredericton (Canada), in London (UK), as well as in Berlin, Germany, where it is now based.
Since its founding it has advised senior government officials in over fifty countries around the world, mainly on renewable energy policy, strategy, and financing. It also advises private sector clients and investors on trends in the clean energy sector, including both on-grid and off-grid. In addition, E3 Analytics is one of the leading consultancies working on rooftop solar policy, having collaborated with city and national governments around the world on how to accelerate the rooftop revolution.
Our work is divided into four broad areas: 1) Market analysis and research; 2) Renewable energy policy, economics, and finance, 3) Energy access, and 4) Training and capacity building.
In the process, it covers a number of topics at the cutting edge of the energy industry, including how to integrate high shares of variable renewable energy, how to encourage more distributed generation, how to scale-up electric mobility, as well as how to leverage the power of new business models to accelerate the energy transition.
Throughout our work, E3 Analytics works closely with a wide range of public and private partners active in the energy sector, including with international institutions such as the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), REN21, Sustainable Energy for All (SEforAll), the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), as well as with national governments, energy regulators, and city governments worldwide.
