This concise report provides an overview of the progress being made in five different countries in the global south on renewable energy development: China, India, Vietnam, South Africa, and the Philippines. Each short case study provides a snapshot of a few policies and successes that these countries have experienced, and what impact these changes are having on the energy mix, on reducing harmful emissions, and on the creation of jobs and economic diversification.
The findings of the study were presented at the Global Renewables Congress 2022.
